2017 Aspire Award winner - Dr Polychronis Koutsakis

Murdoch University is delighted to announce Murdoch University's Professional Development Aspire Award winner Dr Polychronis Koutsakis from the School of Engineering and Information Technology.

Polychronis is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering and Information Technology. He is a senior member of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the Australian Computing Society.

Polychronis’ research interest focuses on the design, modelling and performance evaluation of computer networks and on data science.

He will use the funds to travel to Chania, Greece, where he is currently attending the 19th IEEE International Symposium on a World Of Wireless, Mobile and Multimedia networks (WoWMoM) 2018. There, he has had the honour of servicing as General Chair and delivered a one hour presentation to the Steering Committee to promote Perth’s potential to host the conference.

Polychronis was represented by Dr David Murray, School of Engineering and Information Technology, who received the Award on his behalf.

Congratulations is also in order for Murdoch University finalist, Dr Peter Le Breton.
