Early Career Researcher Development Workshop - Register to secure your place for April 2019

The Office of Research and Innovation will be running two Early Career Researcher Development Workshops in 2019.

The first of these three-day workshops will be held over dates in April and May 2019:

  • Monday 15 April (half day),
  • Tuesday 16 April (half day),
  • Wednesday 17 April (full day), and
  • Monday 6 May (full day) .

This workshop is open to all staff (and final year HDRs if places are available) and will be of particular benefit to early career researchers and those developing their research focus, seeking opportunities for strategic career planning and skill development, or simply wish to update their knowledge base.

If you would like to attend the April/May workshop, please send me an email to secure your place - places for the workshop are limited to 16 and is offered on a first come, first served basis.  We will run the workshop again in September/November 2019.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION:

Early career researchers form a vital part of Murdoch’s community and the Office of Research and Innovation support initiatives to assist individuals in the development of knowledge and skills central to developing a successful research career.  In the present internationally very competitive research environment where public funding for research is decreasing, it is essential that researchers focus their efforts to ensure maximum productivity.  Newer researchers can benefit substantially from assistance with developing career plans, publications strategies, research funding and collaborative opportunities and general international recognition. This workshop addresses important topics related to the development of research careers, with the aim of improving knowledge on planning and opportunities, demonstrating strategies, tools and techniques participants can use to maximise research productivity and build a successful research career.
