The Murdoch Environmental Restoration Group (MERG) is the student group that's been caring for Murdoch's special conservation reserves since 2010. In that time we've planted tens of thousands of native seedlings, installed numerous artificial nest hollows for endangered Black Cockatoos, and removed tonnes of invasive weeds.
No matter what you're studying, you can join in our events that help conserve the native plants and animals on our campus whilst gaining valuable leadership and project management experience. Hours spent volunteering for MERG may be eligible for the Community Pathways section of your academic transcript - making you stand out from the crowd when it comes time to start your career.
Mark your diaries for the following fun, free events:
3 February, 9am- 2pm: Conservation Activities in Chelodina Wetland
23 February, 6-7.30pm: Great Cocky Count Training
10 March, 12- 1.30pm: AGM, Building 490 room 2.020
