We're hiring! Student TEL Ambassadors

We’re hiring! TEL Ambassadors are current students employed by the University who will advocate for enhancing the digital learning experience, provide practical support for implementing digital learning standards in the digital learning environment, and communicate about technology enhanced learning at Murdoch with other students.

We are looking for current Murdoch students, who have some technical or media related interest/skills and are keen to support and communicate with others.

TEL Ambassadors:

  • Work one day a week, supporting staff and communicating with students about technology enhanced learning (TEL)
  • Details on myMurdoch Careers, including guidance for applying

Background:

In 2021, the four students who were employed as TEL Ambassadors achieved:

  • Creation of student ‘welcome pack’ videos (sample) – by gathering feedback; liaising with various student groups and staff teams; scripting and filming videos.
  • Running professional learning sessions and one-on-one support for staff in the use of Blackboard Collaborate
  • Creation of Blackboard Collaborate ‘how to’ videos
  • Hosting a stall for students at Semester 2 Orientation Day and handing out an Education Technology guide that they created
  • Providing drop-in support for other students around accessibility features of common tools (working with Access and Inclusion team)
  • Gathering and providing feedback to different teams about various Murdoch systems (including myMurdoch student portal)
