Don't throw your used batteries in the waste or recycling bin! 

Instead, bring them to the Science Store, Building 245, Room 1.016, at our centralised collection point. The depleted batteries will be sent for recycling and recovery of their valuable composits, reducing the demand for new materials, as well as being safer environmentally. 

So do the right thing - seek out battery collection points on campus (usually they are in study areas, School reception areas, or the Library) or bring your batteries to the Science Store.
