Influzena, commonly known as flu, is a highly contagious disease caused by the influenza virus. Vaccination is the best protection against flu and its complications, with an annual flu vaccination recommended for all people from six months onwards.
The peak of flu season is typically June to September in most parts of Australia. Now with borders reopened and travel resumed, a resurgence of influenza is expected in 2022. So, it is even more important to protect yourself this year and get your flu jab!
Once again, Murdoch staff and students can receive free flu vaccinations at Murdoch by attending clinics run by the Murdoch University Medical Service from early May.
There is no cost, but you must pre-book and places are limited.
Once you have made a booking, you are required to complete this influenza health questionnaire and bring it with you to your appointment.

COVID-19 vaccinations
The above dates are for the influenza clinic only and no other vaccinations will be administered. If you require a COVID-19 vaccination, it is safe to get both on the same day – and, being vaccinated against COVID-19 and the flu will minimise the possibility of contracting both at the same time.
The Medical Service is currently administering the Pfizer vaccine and can assist if you require your first, second or third dose. Bookings can be made online, or by phoning 9360 2293.
