In 2021, the Period Pride Survey found of those who had been unable to afford period products, 10% were university and TAFE students.
To address this, the Student Assist Team from The Guild have partnered with Share the Dignity and Dandelions WA to provide emergency sanitary products at Murdoch. Students will find these in the 24/7 bathroom of the Geoffrey Bolton Library.
About Share the Dignity and Dandelions WA
Share the Dignity is a women's charity that works to make a real, on-the-ground difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. You may recognise their work from the #ItsInTheBag initiative.
Dandelions WA look for ways to assist anyone impacted by homelessness, domestic/family violence, ill-health, natural disaster and/or financial hardship. Both charities aim to ensure that everyone is afforded the dignity in life that many of us take for granted.
