The name, chosen by Dr Richard Walley, reflects the many elements of learning that will take place across the building, honouring a tradition that has been occurring on the lands around Murdoch for thousands of years. 

Boola Katitjin will be a transformational project for Murdoch, offering a world-class learning environment with students at its heart. Up to 60% of classes will be taught in the new building which is scheduled to open in Semester 1, 2023.
