MSP200 Employability Workshops

Launchpad is offering students a range of workshops to build the skills you need to increase employability and maintain a successful career.

Through these workshops, you will work on a number of employability skills you identify as valued in your future field of work or area of study and important for your professional development. You will also receive certificates for engaging in these learning experiences which you can then include as part of their career portfolio. 

Workshops: 

Becoming a Leader people want to work with, in the period of the great resignation with Dawn Thomas (alumna Murdoch University)

  • Thursday 8 September (9am - 12pm @ Launchpad) 

Dawn Thomas is a leader and advocate for professional women in the finance industry. She understands the need to be heart-led so goals are achieved through an inclusive and trusted relationship. 

Dawn was listed in Financial Standard’s Power 50, which recognises the most influential financial advisers in Australia. In recognising her work around lifting the financial literacy of women in her community she won 2019 Association of Financial Adviser's (AFA) Female Excellence in Advice Award. She was also the recipient of the Great Advice Award (WA) in 2021. In 2018, she was a finalist in the Women in Financial Services Awards for Advocate of the Year and Young Leader of the Year.

More recently Dawn has taken on a new leadership role with The Wealth Designers and is the host of 'Your Money Story' @advicewithheart.

Getting started with Java using Alice with Prathmesh Mahidharia (alumnus Murdoch University)

  • Tuesday 13 September (8.30am to 5pm @ Computer lab: 122.2.023) 

Master of Science in Information Technology (Murdoch University - 2002) – Employed with Oracle as a Principal Cloud Architect with a focus on designing technical architecture and solutions for cloud technologies with emphasis on Analytics and Business Intelligence.

Past experience includes working in IT Consulting and Engineering and Mining industries in various roles like Solution Architect, Software Development, DBA, Team Lead, IS Department Manager, Project Management among other roles.

How to create a Purposeful Career path with Purposeful.

Personal Branding and LinkedIn Masterclass with Sandra Tricoli (alumna Murdoch University)

Sandra Tricoli understands communication in today's tech-savvy world is a powerful yet often underutilised tool. An experienced Public Relations, Marketing, and Events transformative specialist, Sandra is the Owner and Director of Perth's premier boutique agency Savvy Creations PR, and affiliated content consultancy Perth Copywriting. For over a decade the passionate communications strategist's exemplary leadership and interpersonal skills have seen her consult over 2,000 businesses, and amass a local, national, and global clientele spanning dozens of diverse industries.
