This is a FREE training opportunity to raise your awareness and understanding of the life experiences, systemic and institutional discrimination, and challenges faced by our LGBTIQA+ students and staff, and the impact it can have on their study and work.
You will also have the opportunity to learn about LGBTIQA+ terminology, intersectionality within the community and the role and expectations of an Ally.
At the end of the training, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of LGBTIQA+ terminology and the difference between sex, gender identity, gender expression & sexual orientation
- Acknowledge the lived experience and impact of harassment and discrimination
- Describe the role and responsibilities of being an Ally
- Apply strategies to support the LGBTIQA+ community as an Ally
