Flu vaccinations available through June 2023

In Western Australia, the peak period for the spread of influenza is typically from June to September.

With the government extending free flu vaccinations into June, there is still time to take proactive measures to protect yourself and those around you.

Annual vaccination is the most effective way to prevent influenza and its complications, which can be especially dangerous for vulnerable populations, such as the elderly and those with underlying health conditions.

Murdoch University’s Medical Service has influenza vaccines available, and appointments can be made for most days. Head online to book a time that suits you.

The vaccine is available to both Medicare and non-Medicare cardholders, as well as students with Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

COVID-19 Vaccinations

The Murdoch University Medical Service is also running COVID-19 vaccinations clinics once a week – alternating between Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Prevent the spread of illness

In addition to getting vaccinated, washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue or elbow are important steps you can take to prevent the spread of illness. As always, if you are unwell stay home and do not come to campus.
