Are you passionate about sustainability? Around 400 students shared their ideas about sustainability at Murdoch in our 2023 Sustainability Survey. Almost 90% of students felt biodiversity loss and climate change were personally important, and a majority agreed that Murdoch should be a role model in sustainability practices.
Sustainability is a key strategic theme in the Murdoch University Strategy Ngala Kwop Biddi 2023-2030 and in 2023 Martin Brueckner became the first Pro Vice Chancellor, Sustainability, appointed to lead the university’s sustainability efforts. Murdoch has big ambitions to be a leader in Environmental, Social, and Governance practices. By 2030, we aim to achieve:
- Net zero emissions
- Net zero transport emissions
- Zero waste to landfill
- Recognition as a centre of excellence for sustainability
We are looking for students to share your thoughts and ideas as we develop our Sustainability Strategic Framework and Strategy and outline our pathway to achieving these goals.
