But that's not all. In addition to our wonderful Den space, we're proud to continue to offer support groups for both the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals with ADHD. These groups provide a safe and welcoming environment where you can connect with others who understand your experiences.

LGBTQIA+ Support Group:

Would you like to learn some skills to manage stress and improve your relationship with yourself and other people? Come and join us at the Counselling Service for our LGBTQIA+ Support Group. This is a group designed for Queer-identifying individuals and will focus on hanging out and meeting new people, exploring the unique challenges experienced within the Queer Community and learning skills using techniques from Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to help promote positive mental health and wellbeing. It’s important to find your crowd to connect over shared experiences, especially during stressful and anxious periods.

Next steps:

  • Express your interest in joining the LGBTQIA+ Support Group by email counsellingservice@murdoch.edu.au or calling (08) 9360 1227
  • You will receive a call or email from the facilitator(s) closer to the start of the group program to organise a brief intake appointment. This will help determine if the group will be a good fit for you.

ADHD Support Group:

Do you have symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (Diagnosed or Suspected)? Are you concerned about it impacting your ability to study? In partnership with the Counselling Service and Access and Inclusion teams, the Murdoch Psychology clinic will be running a 10-week ADHD Support Group that focuses on bringing together students to share skills and strategies for managing their symptoms at university and in day-to-day life.

Next step:

  • Contact the Murdoch Psychology Clinic on (08) 9360 2570 or psyclinic@murdoch.edu.au to schedule a brief intake appointment. This will help determine if the group will be a good fit for you.
  • The ADHD Support Group will commence in Week 2 of the semester. Reach out early to ensure you don't miss out!
