This year National Science Week is running 10 - 18 August, with hundreds of events and activities taking place around the country.
In celebration of National Science Week, Murdoch University is hosting four very interesting and informative lectures that are open to the whole Murdoch community. We encourage you to join us and celebrate all things science and technology.

Dr Grey Coupland will share information and ideas on Rapid urban greening, thriving biodiversity and engaging citizen scientists.
Dr. Coupland is an ecologist and restoration scientist at Murdoch University. She feels the importance of bringing the ideas of environmental awareness and stewardship to the next generation. Miyawaki forests are a great way of introducing nature into schools and the community, and to enable children and the community to feel that they can make a difference.

Associate Professor Natalie Warburton is a zoologist, comparative anatomist and palaeontologist who works at Murdoch University. Her research was featured in this recent documentary produced by the ABC Catalyst team, which she will introduce and then screen the two parts of the documentary in their entirety on the big screen.

Join our public lecture on attracting wildlife to your garden (hint: it’s not birdseed), then take a campus walk to see bird-friendly plants and record your bird count with the Birdlife Australia app. The first 100 registrants get a free seedling! Meet an endangered bird from Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre and enjoy morning tea.
