Starting at the beginning of 2025, you’ll have new attendance modes available for your courses and units. The current external and internal modes will be replaced by three new attendance modes at the course level and five new modes at the unit level.
These new attendance modes will help you better understand when you need to attend campus in person or study online throughout the teaching period.
You will have greater flexibility in choosing how you study, and opportunities for increased engagement with your teachers, fellow students, and the university community if you choose face-to-face unit modes.
New course level modes:

- Mixed Mode

- Face to Face
- Online Flexible
- Online Scheduled
- Mixed Mode
- Placement
Many assessments and examinations will be scheduled and require in-person attendance. Please check attendance requirements identified in the unit information in the Handbook prior to enrolment/class sign up.
Please note: International student visa holders must complete at least two-thirds of their overall course face-to-face and must be enrolled in at least one face-to-face unit each teaching period. If this is not feasible, please seek advice from our MyAdvice team.
