Murdoch Active Challenge: Powerlifting

Want to challenge yourself and see how strong you can get in a 2-month period? Murdoch Active is hosting their next challenge, which will focus on lifting 3 main exercises Back Squat, Bench Press & Deadlift.

This will start Sunday 1 September until 31 October 2024. 

How do I participate?

You'll need to register for the challenge. Once you've registered you'll receive more information via email. 

When you register there will be 3 options to choose dependent on which level you feel best suits your experience and ability. 

  1. Learn to Lift (Beginner)
  2. Give it a Go (Intermediate)
  3. Power Pro (Expert)

Please note once you have chosen your level to register, you cannot change during the challenge. 
Our staff will guide you through each exercise and keep tracking your progress throughout the challenge. You will need to have an active membership with Murdoch Active to take part. 

What if I've never done Powerlifting?

If you’ve never done Powerlifting before, but want to give it go, we do have our Power Up classes which focus on these three exercises and can help you learn and understand these movements. 

Power Up classes run:

  • Mondays: 4pm-5pm
  • Tuesdays: 4:30pm-5:30pm currently (but will change permanently to 5pm-6pm from Mon 2 Sept)
  • Thursdays 4:30pm-5:30pm currently (but will change permanently to 5pm-6pm from Mon 2 Sept)
