Session 1
This session will run from 9:30am-10:30am at Kim Beazley Lecture Theatre with the keynote address presented by Sarah Thomson, the founder of Online Social Butterfly and a rich background that includes international roles and leadership in various sectors, from corporates to non-profits.
Sarah will discuss the skills, challenges and opportunities that graduates face in the AI workforce.
She is also the Director of an AI start-up Grid Synergy Consulting, has been passionately running social media workshops such as the List Builders Lounge course and Facebook Ads training, and hosts "The Social Circus" podcast.
With a suite of academic achievements in marketing and management, she's been spearheading sought-after social media workshops for a decade, shaping her as a powerhouse in digital strategy and a beacon for continuous learning and dynamic training in the field.
Session 2
This Interactive Workshop by Jane Foster – Murdoch University Employability Learning Consultant (Career Industry Council of Australia registered Professional Career Development Practitioner) will run from 11:00am-12:00pm at Room 360.4.023.
Jane will discuss the topic, Transitioning from Education to Employment: Levelling up with AI with a focus on the following:
- Demystifying contemporary recruitment practices: ways AI is being used by employment gate keepers
- Exploring how students can leverage AI in their career development learning and employability, including creating an AI friendly resume / CV
- Recognising fair play: equity, diversity and inclusion considerations and benefits
