2025 Parking Permits

Published: 28th November 2024

Great news - you can apply online for your 2025, purple, green or red student parking permit!

Parking 600x400

Order online from 6 January 2025 to avoid queues, and have your permit mailed to you once payment has been processed.

We are pleased to advise that 2025 student parking permits will remain unchanged for the 10th straight year!

The full schedule of fees can be found on our website.

Remember that there is free parking in green zone during Orientation Week, Semester 1 and 2 official exam periods! Permits are still required for all other non-teaching periods.

Murdoch continues to offer the best ratio of parking bays to students among the four Perth Universities. However, be mindful that weeks 1-4 of each semester are peak demand for bays on campus, and as we grow each year, bay availability during semesters does reduce. So please consider arriving earlier, ride sharing or using the great public transport options.

Fines can be avoided by following parking regulations. These rules are in place to manage parking equitably for everyone's convenience and safety.

Some key points to note:

  • The parking year is:
    • Full year: 1 February 2025 – 31 January 2026
    • Semester 1: 1 February 2025 – 30 June 2025; and
    • Semester 2: 1 July 2025 – 31 January 2026.

  • There is no part-time parking permit option.
  • Refunds are available only in line with the student census dates each semester.
  • Students who are also University staff member (fixed term or continuous status) must purchase a staff parking permit.
  • A maximum of two vehicle registrations can be nominated per parking application.
  • Permit holders are required to maintain updated details of their vehicle, including address via MyInfo.
  • Daily parking permits (scratchies) are available from Student Guild outlets for $5 per day and valid for green zone only.
  • Ticket machine parking is available across campus for $3 per hour for non-permit holders.
  • Students with a valid ACROD sticker can park in any ACROD bay on campus without a Murdoch permit.
  • Easy Access parking (temporary) can be applied for via the Access and Inclusion Office and will require a valid Murdoch permit.

  • Non-payment of a parking or traffic infringement may result in an encumbrance and referral to the Fines Enforcement Registry.
  • Please adhere to the speed limit indicated on the signs across campus.
  • When parking your vehicle please consider and be aware of the campus environment and weather conditions as trees can be unpredictable at times.

We wish you all the best for the academic year ahead!
