Turnitin is used when assessments are submitted via myMurdoch Learning (LMS) helping you and your Unit Coordinator review your use of other text and your referencing skills. Once you have submitted your assessment, both you and your Unit Coordinator will be able to access the Similarity Report which will help you improve future writing.
Depending on how your unit coordinator configures Turnitin in the LMS, you may be able to upload an assessment to Turnitin and receive a Similarity Report prior to the final version which will help you correct your referencing and provide feedback on the originality of your writing, before the assessment due date.
You will be asked to accept the Turnitin End User Licence Agreement the first time you use the service and must accept this as it will assist with your writing and is an essential part of academic integrity at MU. Turnitin may retain a copy of your work for the sole purpose of subsequent plagiarism checking.
