Join parkrun at Murdoch University from July

Published: 30th June 2026

Looking for a fun and social way to stay active? Murdoch University is excited to welcome parkrun to campus from Saturday, 25 July!

Parkrun 630x380

Parkrun is a free weekly community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate along a 5km course. Whether you’re a regular runner or just looking to get moving, everyone is welcome to join.

The event is inclusive, friendly and untimed — there’s no pressure, no time limit and no one finishes last.

  • Where: Murdoch University South Street campus
  • When: Every Saturday from 25 July
  • Time: 8:00am start
  • Cost: FREE!

The course starts near Boola Katitjin and takes participants through some of Murdoch’s iconic campus locations, including Bush Court, the University Village and the outdoor cinema area.

Professor Guillermo Campitelli, Pro Vice Chancellor of Health and Education, helped bring parkrun to Murdoch as part of the University’s vision to create a more connected and active campus community.

“The idea of parkrun is that it is a community event. It is an opportunity to have a healthy activity and have fun,” Guillermo said.

How to join

You can register through the official parkrun website to receive your personal barcode and parkrun ID. Once registered, you can participate in parkrun events around the world, including the Murdoch University event once it launches on 25 July.

Please note: the Murdoch University parkrun event page is not live yet and will become available on the official parkrun website on the launch date.

Participants are welcome to bring strollers on the run; however, dogs will unfortunately not be allowed due to campus bylaws.

Interested in volunteering?

Parkrun also relies on volunteers to help guide participants and support the event each week. If you’re interested in volunteering or would like to learn more, please contact Lauren Strong.
