Widely regarded as one of Indonesia’s top stand-up comics, Pandji is a comedian, actor, author, broadcaster and filmmaker whose work blends sharp humour with thoughtful commentary on society, politics, culture and everyday life. His Netflix comedy special Mens Rea is described by Netflix as his 10th comedy special and a stand-up political satire exploring Indonesian legal culture and the absurdities of daily life.
Presented in English, this special Murdoch event will feature a moderated conversation with Dr Ian Wilson, Principal Fellow of the IPRC and audience Q&A exploring comedy, freedom of expression, contemporary Indonesia and Australia–Indonesia connections. It offers students, staff and the broader Murdoch community the opportunity to hear directly from a major Indonesian creative voice whose work has reached national and international audiences.
Doors open at 6:00pm and the event commences at 6:30pm. Seating is general admission and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so early booking is encouraged. Tickets are available via Humanitix.
