We’re looking for an artwork that reflects our values, aligns with our ongoing commitment to improving accessibility, and celebrates the diversity, strengths and experiences of our community. All mediums and art styles are welcome.

The commissioned artwork will feature on the cover of the DAIP and across a range of digital, print and promotional materials.

• Individual artists with a lived experience of disability, neurodiversity, and/or chronic illness, living in WA. You do not require, and we will not request, proof of diagnosis in any form.

• We encourage submissions from artists with a connection to our Murdoch University community, such as current or past students, alumni, staff, and regular campus visitors.

Applicants are asked to provide:

1. Artist biography: A short artist biography and contact details.

2. Artistic statement: An explanation of the inspiration behind the artwork and how it reflects your personal connection to the themes.

3. Concept outline: A detailed description of the proposed artwork, the medium that will be used, and how it connects to the themes outlined above. A draft can be provided but is not required.

4. Portfolio: Two to three examples of previous artwork, or a portfolio link.

Submissions can be provided in a range of formats, including written, audio, video or visual formats.

All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submission by Thursday, 3 September 2026.
