- Date: Thursday 22nd of October

Transport
A free shuttle for students and staff will depart from the South Street campus at 11:40 am and return to campus at 2:10 pm.
When registering for the event, simply let us know if you need return or one-way transport to or from Kaarta Koomba. Further transport details, including the pick-up and drop-off location, will be emailed to registered participants closer to the event.
What’s on
The day begins at 10:00 AM with a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony, before walkers move through Kaarta Koomba together at story points along the trail.
This is a place where stories have been told for tens of thousands of years. The walk is a chance to listen, learn, and be part of that continuing story.
When the trail ends, the day doesn’t. The main stage will feature performances and activities throughout the day, providing a place to connect, learn and be part of the reconciliation community.
What to bring/wear
We recommend bringing:
- Comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes
- A water bottle
- A hat
- Sunglasses
Sunscreen will be provided, and water refill stations will be available at the event.
Accessibility
The Walk for Reconciliation is designed to be inclusive and accessible. Alongside the main trail, there is a separate dedicated track for women’s business for those who choose it, as well as a shorter accessibility trail with pathways suitable for wheelchairs, mobility aids and prams.
A quiet and culturally safe space will be available at the event precinct.
If you need support on the day, please speak to any member wearing a Reconciliation WA shirt.
