FREE Bike safety information session and bike repair workshop

Date: 15th March 2013
Time: 12:30 PM - 16:30 PM

Location: South Street Campus

To celebrate Bike Week, two free cycling workshops are being offered to staff and students, thanks to Murdoch’s Campus and Facilities Management Office and the Department of Transport. The workshops will be led by an accredited cycling coach. Come learn about cycle safety and maintenance, and how to keep your bike in good condition. The workshops are free but you must register by 13 March.

Staff and students who wish to learn how to cycle more safely should attend the Bike Safety Workshop on 15 March from 12:30 to 1:30pm in Social Sciences 1.032 at the Murdoch campus.

Mike Norman, an Austcycle accredited coach, will discuss safe road cycling techniques and WA’s road rules as they relate to cyclists. He’ll also offer a few simple tricks to help keep you moving. This session is guaranteed to benefit experienced and novice cyclists alike.

Knowing how to do your own bike maintenance means your bike is always ready to go when you are and you’ll save heaps of money too!!

Bike Week and Murdoch University are hosting a free, hands-on bike repair workshop at our brand-new bike repair station on Bush Court, on Saturday 16 March from 1.30- 4.30pm. Bring your bike and learn from Mike Norman how to maintain your bike and all its components, and make simple repairs.

RSVPs are essential by 13 March to the Sustainability Officer, Leah Knapp on l.knapp@murdoch.edu.au or 9360 6361.
