FREE IT Recycling on Campus (15-17 April) Date: 15th April 2013 Time: 08:00 AM - 17:30 PM Location: South Street, Peel & Rockingham Campuses Bring your personal IT E-waste to Murdoch University’s campuses for FREE recycling during the 43rd World Earth Day event, coordinated with SIMS. Accepted items are restricted but include computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, laptops, computer components, cables and mobile phones. Collections will occur at the Peel and Rockingham campuses on 15th April only, and at the Murdoch campus on 15th, 16th and 17th April. Murdoch University assets are not accepted. Support World Earth Day and join 43 million people taking positive action. Each tonne of e-waste recycled saves 3-5 tonnes of carbon emissions. In 2011 only 5% of redundant computers in Australia were recycled – a staggering 1.7 million went to landfill. Items ACCEPTED? Computers, laptops, tablets, monitors, keyboards, mice; Printers, faxes, scanners, MFD’s, modems, routers, webcams, multimedia speakers; and Hard drives, circuit boards, cables, power cords, mobile phones. NOT accepted: Televisions, DVD/VHS players, audio equipment, gaming consoles, digital cameras; Kitchen and house appliances, white goods; Power tools, loose batteries. Please do not dispose of Murdoch University assets.
