The Resilience Project - calling all filmmakers, actors and photographers!
posted 20 September 2016 | Student Announcement (student)
The Murdoch University Resilience Project is seeking students who can help create short films to raise awareness of security, safety and wellbeing on-campus. Please express interest to d.byles@murdoch.edu.au by Wednesday 5th October.
The Murdoch University Resilience Project will create security, safety and wellbeing short films (videos) for the Murdoch University community on topics such as mental health, first aid, aggression management, travel safety and personal safety. It is envisaged that the project will be delivered by Murdoch University students – including writing, acting, filming and producing to reflect the energy and inspiration of students on these topics, and showcase the best of Murdoch.
The purpose of this project is to empower staff and student resilience at Murdoch through compelling and engaging films. By using the power of storytelling, we want University staff and students to know why and how we can all help look after the health and wellbeing of ourselves, and each other.
The Project is seeking expressions of interest from students with relevant practical or academic experience and skills (and passion!) in:
- Filmmaking (one or more of the following screen production competencies- screen writing, directing, producing, cinematography, video editing and sound)
- Photography
- Acting (any genre)
We are also seeking expressions of interest from any students who may wish to be an onscreen presenter / narrator to some of the videos. No specific skills or experience are required for this, other than being comfortable and suited to public speaking and communicating persuasively.
Project planning and preproduction is intended for October to December, with filming and post-production from December to February next year. The project timelines and activity scheduling will be most flexible to the availabilities and preferences of involved students.
For more information or express interest, please contact Dan Byles on 9360 6286 or d.byles@murdoch.edu.au. When expressing interest please advise the following by Wednesday 5th October:
- What type and level of involvement you would like
- Your skills and experience
- Why you want to be involved
