Traffic Restrictions for UniGames Cycling Event

On Friday 30 September, Murdoch University is hosting the 2016 Australian UniGames Cycling Criterium event at the Murdoch campus. For the safety of participants, a number of entrances, roads and carparks will be closed on the evening of Thursday 29 and all day on Friday 30 September.

To assist carpark users with the disruption, from 9:00pm on Thursday 29 September to 4:30pm on Friday 30 September Red, Green and Purple (Student Village) permit holders may park in any available red, green or purple zone car parking bay on campus with the exclusion of any ACROD (blue), personal reserved (yellow), 15 minute drop-off or service vehicle bays.
Traffic management officers and signage will be in place for detours around the closures, but please plan ahead and make alternate arrangements if you would usually use these areas. Specific information for each area is listed below:
Campus Entrance B
- Campus Entrance B will be closed from 9:00am on Friday 30 September until 2:30pm on 30 September.
- Exit lanes and turnings on South Street in both directions will be closed to vehicles for the duration with traffic management signage in place for detours.
Carparks 4 and 5
- Carparks 4 and 5 will be closed to incoming vehicles from 9:00pm on Thursday 29 September to 2:30pm on Friday 30 September.
- Vehicles parked in this area overnight will still be able to exit the carparks until 9:00am on Friday 30 September
- Vehicles remaining in the carparks after parked in will not be able to leave until it reopens from 2:30pm on 30 September.
- Holders of personal reserved bay (yellow) parking permits can park in specially reserved bays in the westernmost aisle of Carpark 3 (Chancellery).
Sport and Recreation Centre
- The Sport and Recreation Centre (Building 415) is open as usual for the duration of the event.
- Style Studio hairdressers within the building is also open as usual.
- Customers of these services are recommended to park in car parks 1, 2 or 3 to access the Centre during these closures.
Murdoch University Child Care Centre
- The Child Care Centre is open as usual, and parents and carers have been separately informed of the potential disruption.
- Parents and carers dropping off their children can continue to drive to the Child Care Centre drop-off parking until 9:15am, when all cars must have exited the race course area.
- Parents and carers needing to drop-off or pick-up between 9:15 am and 2:30pm are directed to use the alternative parking marked in carpark 6, with access to the Child Care Centre via pedestrian walkways.
