Smoking on campus
posted 29 November 2016 | Student Announcement (student)
There have been an increasing number of smokers popping up across campus resulting in numerous complaints. Students are reminded to be aware of the non-smoking areas and to respect the University’s smoking policy and the entire University community.
Murdoch University has a key commitment to a healthier campus, healthier people and a healthier environment
Key hotspots at the South Street campus include the Murdoch Tavern, Murdoch Institute of Technology (north side), Education and Humanities building (southern exit), main library entrance on Bush Court and behind the Refectory.
In light of these concerns students are reminded to comply with the University’s smoking policy and respect the Fresh Air Zones. In addition key hotspots will be monitored and students will be issued with warnings and directed to smoking areas.
We ask that you try and avoid smoking on campus completely. If you must smoke, please do so outside the Fresh Air Zones, which are signposted throughout campus and marked on maps.
