2017 Student Parking Permit Information

posted 10 January 2017 | Student Announcement (student)

Murdoch University is pleased to advise student 2017 parking permits will remain at 2016 rates!

2016 permits expire on 31 January 2017 therefore your valid 2017 parking permit must be displayed from 1 February 2017. Parking after this date contrary to the marked zones or with an invalid permit may result in a parking infringement being issued.

Please be advised that applications for 2017 Parking Permits for the Murdoch Campus can be made online from Thursday, 5 January, 2017. Apply for your 2017 student parking permit at: http://our.murdoch.edu.au/Student-life/Get-organised/Getting-your-parking-permit/

The University remains committed to affordability and access for parking at Murdoch. Revenue from parking fees goes towards critical upgrades to our car parks, internal roads and associated key infrastructure including, drainage, lighting, irrigation, landscaping and security. More information on new parking project initiatives will be shared early in 2017.

The full schedule of fees can be found at http://our.murdoch.edu.au/Campus-and-Facilities-Management-Office/Our-services/Parking-on-campus/Parking-permits-and-fees/#parking-fees

If you are looking to avoid queues during those hectic first few weeks back at Uni, log on, order your Red or Green zone permit and have it posted to your address within approx. two (2) working days of your payment being processed. Payments are controlled by the ANZ E-Gate secure payment system and can be made via credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or BPay.

You will still be able to purchase Red and Green zone permits directly from The Student Centre on completion of an application form, however it is expected that delays may occur over the coming weeks as we approach the start of Semester 1, 2017. As this may be the case, please consider the online system as your first preference.

Some key points to note:

  • The parking year is 1 February – 31 January 2018 with Semester 1, 1 February – 30 June, 2017 and Semester 2, 1 July – 31 January, 2018.
  • There is no part time parking permit option however daily, monthly, semester and annual permits are available.
  • A maximum of two (2) vehicle registrations can be nominated on the parking application form.
  • Murdoch students who are also a University staff member (fixed term or continuous status) are required to purchase a staff parking permit.
  • Campus Living Village permits are available from The Student Centre only, as they require additional supporting documentation.
  • Students with a valid ACROD sticker can park in any campus ACROD bays without needing a Murdoch permit. Non ACROD permit holders who need temporary Easy Access parking are to apply via the Disability Support Office.
  • All appeals against an infringement must be made in writing and the non-payment of a parking or traffic infringement may result an encumbrance.
