Murdoch Theatre Company Presents: Sex & Sensuality - A Night of Monologues

Date: 22nd August 2013
Time: 19:00 PM - 19:00 PM

Location: South Street Campus

Sex is important - but does it define who we are? Inspired by Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues, this performance asked university students to write their own monologues about their identity and experience as sexual creatures, and the pressures and challenges arising out of one’s identity and the societal norms they are matched up with.

Sex is important - but does it define who we are? Inspired by Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues, this performance asked university students to write their own monologues about their identity and experience as sexual creatures, and the pressures and challenges arising out of one’s identity and the societal norms they are matched up with. A wide variety of responses were given, incorporating different writing styles and moods, ranging from hilarious to provocative, and from numerous backgrounds, and exploring a multitude of topics such as sexuality, chastity, body image, romance, femininity, masculinity, freedom, pleasure and desire. At the heart of these topics is the emphasis on a subjective experience, and fundamental questions about what it means to experience a fundamental human truth – Sex.

Rated M - Mature - For coarse language and sexual themes.

Tickets are $10.
All proceeds from ticketing and front of house will be donated to a charity.

Showing two nights only - The 22nd and the 23rd of August, 7pm.
