The society is honoured to have the former Governor-General, Major General the Hon. Michael Jeffery, AC, AO (Mil), CVO, MC (Retd) present the inaugural lecture in this series.

General Jeffery was appointed to the role of Advocate for Soil Health by the Prime Minister in 2012 to help raise public awareness of the critical role soil plays in underpinning sustainable productivity, and of the importance of taking an integrated approach to the management of soil, water and vegetation.

Please join us at this free public lecture to hear more about General Jeffery’s passion for soils and his involvement in this important role as Advocate for Soil Health.
