A Call for Participants for Student Retention Research

Researchers from Murdoch's School of Psychology and Exercise Science are seeking participants for research into student retention. If you are 18 years or older, and currently enrolled as a domestic student at an Australian university, then we invite you to participate.

This research is being conducted by Dr Brody Heritage and Dr Andrea Steele from Murdoch University's School of Psychology and Exercise Science.

Although researchers have become quite good at predicting which workers will remain at an organisation, accurate prediction of student retention is still in its infancy. We have developed a measure that draws from organisational research and are seeking to determine if it has utility in predicting which students are likely to stay at university.

Better prediction of student retention may lead to better-targeted support structures to guide and encourage students towards degree completion.

If you decide to participate in this study, you will be asked to complete an online questionnaire where you will indicate the extent to which you agree or disagree with a series of statements. The estimated time to complete this questionnaire is approximately 20 minutes.

As a reward for participation in this project, we will enter your details into a prize draw to win one of two $50 electronic gift vouchers. Gift voucher winners will be drawn at the conclusion of the study (expected by December, 2018), and will be notified via their provided email address.

You can access the survey directly via: https://pes.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_beaIrJlLGSspfdr
