We would like to invite you to join us at Murdoch University’s inaugural ‘Women in STEMM: Murdoch University Research Symposium’.

The event will showcase the outstanding science being conducted at Murdoch University with research presentations by four gender diverse research groups, led by outstanding female researchers. This will be followed by a panel discussion from senior researchers who will share personal views, strategies and experiences for individuals pursuing a career in STEMM.

This event aims to contribute to raising awareness, celebrating women in research, and changing attitudes across Murdoch’s staff and student community, and we encourage everyone, regardless of gender, to attend.

The event will include a keynote addresses from the Vice Chancellor Professor Eeva Leinonen and Professor Sally Kendall, followed by three presentations from gender diverse research groups, led by female researchers:

  • Professor Sue Fletcher (Biomedical Science)
  • Associate Professor Nicola Armstrong (Mathematics)
  • Associate Professor Tania Urmee (Engineering).

Research feature presentations will be followed by a Panel Discussion with:

  • Senior Lecturer Dr Paola Magni,
  • Associate Professor Phil Nicholls, and
  • Professor Rhonda Marriott

The afternoon will end with a catered networking session.
