Top 5 tips for the study week

Published: 27th September 2019

Next week is a non-teaching week for many students, which means it's a great opportunity to be productive, get work done and give our bodies time to rest. Here are the top 5 tips from the Peer Academic Coaches (PACs) about how to make the most of Week 10!

PAC study tips

Study Session Techniques

  1. Use the Pomodoro Technique to manage your time and stay on track! Set a timer for 25 minutes, work on the task, and then take a short 3-5-minute break.
  2. Set a goal for each study session; this will help you to be more productive and focused.

Absorbing Information

  1. Jotting down information in a concept map by using different colours is a great way to visually remember information. Break down your units by topic or outcome into smaller, more manageable concept maps.
  2. Group study sessions are a great way to learn the material by quizzing each other. This allows you to learn the information in a different form. Research shows that teaching other people boosts your own understanding!

Self-Care

  1. Finally, between all the study, make sure you take the time to do something for you. Sleep an extra hour, go for a walk or go for coffee with friends. Being well-rested will help you be more productive!
