Sexual Health Awareness and Guidance Week

SHAG week is brought to you by the Murdoch Guild and Murdoch University! Join us for a week of education, empowerment and fun!

MONDAY 17 AUGUST

  • Pack Condoms and Eat Pizza (11am - 1pm | Winter Gardens). Come down and have a chat with WA Aids Council - help pack some condoms and eat some free pizza!
  • ONLINE - Looking Out For Your Mates  (12.30pm - 1pm | Online). Learn about bystander intervention, consent and healthy relationships. This workshop focuses on promoting respect for everyone. 

TUESDAY 18 AUGUST

  • SHAG Pub Quiz (12 - 1pm | Murdoch Guild Tav). Come down for a quickie pub quiz to win prizes and test your sexy knowledge!
  • ONLINE - LGBTQIA+ Health (12.30pm - 2pm | Online). A health workshop for the LGBTQIA+ community and allys. We will have open conversations about sexual health topics relevant to the LGBTQIA+ community and answer any questions you may have. 

WEDNESDAY 19 AUGUST

  • QUEER COLLECTIVE TAKEOVER IN THE TAV (TBA | Murdoch Tav). Head down to the Tav where the Queer Collective will be running a Sex Toy Bingo, giving away free stuff and a Queer Q&A! 
  • ONLINE - Sexpectations vs Reality (12.30pm - 1pm | Online). We will discuss the difference between what you see on TV and real life sex. Some things don't go to plan but that is ok - let's talk about it and how you can overcome some of the awkwardness that might occur. 

THURSDAY 20 AUGUST
Head to Marketdaze (10am - 2pm | Bush Court) for a heap of fun activities including:

  • Sexy Games
  • Hula hoop with Poderick
  • WA AIDS council workshop 
  • Giveaways 

FRIDAY 21 AUGUST

  • ONLINE - Navigating Awkward Sex Conversations (12.30pm - 1.00pm). Having discussions with your partner about what contraception you want to use or what sexual activities you do/ do not enjoy or even asking them to get an STI test, can be challenging. These conversations are essential to having a healthy relationship so we have put together some tips on how to have these sometimes difficult conversations.
