Mental Health Week is a national week celebrated each year in October, kicking off with World Mental Health Day on October 10. In 2020, the Mental Health Week theme is ‘Strengthening Our Community’.
To help promote Mental Health Week, we’re hosting an Art from the Heart exhibition to raise awareness about mental health, reduce the stigma surrounding mental health struggles, celebrate creativity and provide the Murdoch community with the opportunity to communicate their emotions though art.
The exhibition will be open from Monday 12 October to Friday 16 October in the Geoffrey Bolton Library for the Murdoch community to admire and appreciate.
We encourage everybody to attend and use this opportunity to start conversations about mental health, self-care and help normalise seeking support for mental health.
Murdoch students and staff are encouraged to submit artwork for the exhibition expressing what mental health means to you.
You can access free information and support for mental health through our on-campus Murdoch University Counselling Service. The team provides workshops, online resources and one-to-one support.
