Did you know that as a Murdoch student, you have access to a free suite of tools to help you strengthen your academic skills and boost your grades?

PAC 100x140 v2

We have a huge range of resources stretching across a wide range of skills and courses, with support available both online and on campus. Check out our top five picks below!

  1. Communications Skills Toolkit

The Communications Skills Toolkit is a self-serve resource hub on LMS that helps you improve your academic writing, grammar, teamwork, speaking, reading, and notetaking skills. There is also support for referencing and academic integrity.

The toolkit includes a range of interactive modules you can work through in any order.

  1. Grammarly

All Murdoch students have access to a free premium Grammarly account. Grammarly analyses your writing and offers suggestions for grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and style.

Grammarly can be plugged into Microsoft Word - which Murdoch students also get for free - to assist in real-time as you write your assignments.

  1. Studiosity

If you’re having an early-morning, late-night or weekend study session and need support, Studiosity is here to help.

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you have the option to chat with a subject specialist and get instant support. You can also submit an assignment draft for writing feedback within 24 hours.

As a bonus, Studiosity have a handy assignment calculator tool to help you tackle procrastination and stay calm during semester.

  • You'll find access to Studiosity conveniently located in the ‘Extra Resources’ section of every unit LMS site.
  1. UniEdge Workshops

These workshops are held throughout  semesters 1 and 2 to help you develop your academic communication skills and to make the most of your time at university.  .

The workshops cover a range of topics and introduce you to skills such as  assignment preparation; critical thinking and reading; academic writing and referencing.

They are open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students and are conducted on campus and online. Recordings of the sessions are also available for students who are unable to attend the sessions. .

  1. Peer support

Sometimes you need advice from someone who has been in your shoes, which is why our Peer Academic Coaches and PASS leaders are so helpful.

Our Peer Academic Coaches (PACs) are successful students who offer free and individualised 20-minute drop-in or online consultations for all Murdoch students, while Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) are unit-specific peer-led study groups.
