We’re pleased to let you know the Premier has announced that there have been no further cases of community transmission of COVID-19 in the Perth and Peel regions.
Accordingly, from 12.01am on Saturday 8 May, it will not be compulsory to wear masks, except for the following:
- On public transport
- At events where the venue will have more than 1,000 people
- At hospitals, and disability and aged care accommodation
This means that from 12.01am on Saturday 8 May, masks will no longer be a requirement at our South Street, Rockingham or Mandurah campuses.
We encourage you to continue to adhere to our COVID-19 Campus Protocols to maintain your health and safety and that of everyone on campus.
As this is an issue that continues to evolve, the University’s Critical Incident Management Team will continue to monitor Health Department advice. We urge you to be aware that everyone in our community should be prepared for changes to protocols at short notice.
As always, please refer to your student emails, the myMurdoch student portal and your unit LMS pages for latest advice and updates.
We understand that the recent lockdowns and restrictions have been difficult for many. If you need support, please reach out to our health and wellbeing services, many of which you can access from home.
We thank you for your ongoing support in keeping our campuses safe and wish you all the best for your studies.
