The State Government has announced that from noon today (27 June), Phase 1 restrictions will apply. This includes the 2 square metre distancing requirement, the wearing of masks while indoors and on public transport, and a cap of 150 people at events. These restrictions will apply for the next three days.
Classes and assessments
All on-campus classes will go ahead this week unless you are advised otherwise for your particular units. Anyone affected by space timetabling changes to on-campus classes to conform with the 2 square metre rule will be notified.
Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placements can continue as scheduled, under direction from relevant placement providers, if the activity can be conducted in accordance with WA Phase 1 health restrictions. The WIL Team will contact placement providers and students to confirm if arrangements will proceed during this initial three-day period of restrictions.
Research
If you are undertaking research and it is safe and practical, and you have approval from your relevant line manager, you may continue to work on campus in accordance with the 2 square metre rule. Any concerns you have regarding your research should first be directed to your supervisory team. As additional information becomes available you will be informed through email correspondence from the Graduate Research Office.
Student services
Student services, including the Student Centre, myMurdoch Advice and the Counselling service will revert to online services only.
All Libraries (Geoffrey Bolton, Veterinary Science and Mandurah Libraries) will remain open, including the 24-hour learning spaces subject to Government restrictions. Online library resources remain available.

Campus facilities
The Student Hub and IGA Express will remain open.
If you visit the campus, you must also:
- Use the SafeWA app.
- Wear a face mask at all times.
- Only remain on campus long enough to perform your required task.
As always, it is essential you practice good sneeze and cough hygiene, wash your hands regularly, maintain physical distancing (2 metres), stay at home if you feel unwell and use the SafeWA app.
We thank you for your patience during this time. We will continue to update you as the situation evolves.
