Volunteer opportunities from Rebound WA to help children with physical disability

Published: 15th July 2021

Murdoch Sports and Recreation has become the south of the river home to Rebound WA’s Whiz Kids program.

Rebound WA 300 x 420

The newly forged partnership will allow Rebound WA to extend their reach further south and provide more opportunities for Western Australia’s kids to engage in accessible sports. Free to join, this program is a fantastic opportunity for kids to get active, play team or individual sports, and find a community where they fit in.

The partnership will also allow Murdoch’s students and staff to engage in Rebound WA’s programs, like Wheel LIFE and the Wheelchair Challenge.

Wheel LIFE is designed to motivate and educate participants by giving them a practical understanding of what it is like to live with physical disability. In addition to gaining a more inclusive outlook, the program also shows how being active leads to a healthier life.

The program delivers a practical understanding of living with a disability by motivating and educating participants as they play wheelchair basketball.

For students looking to add volunteering experience to their portfolios, Rebound WA offers various opportunities to develop their professional skills by helping kids have fun and supporting an established charity that services an essential part of our community.

If you’d like more information on their programs, or how you can be involved, contact Rebound WA on 6143 5800 or admin@reboundwa.com.
