The Biotech Game is a negotiation simulation, developed jointly by Muhammad Adeel and Professor Michael Jones, which role plays the regulation of New Breeding Technologies under the Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety. It is a key international convention impacting Biotechnology. The Biotech game focuses on educating diverse audiences on the complexities of science policy and regulations in the international arena.

Through the simulation, the players will be able to explore and understand aspects such as dealing with scientific uncertainty, socio-economic considerations of policy, risk perception and crucially how biotech products are traded globally. The game also brings into focus the role of science advice and how various evidences are considered during negotiations.
