Are you an internationa
l student at MU? Do you have your own story to tell about where you come f
rom\, who you are and what you bring to MU? We would love to have your hel
p with this art installation that represents the 1200 students who are on
campus this semester with MU.
\n
In addition to the usual activities\
, games\, drinks\, snacks\, guitars and music\, you can create a tiny flag
(or many tiny flags!) and install it in the Winter Garden as part of our
Harmony Week celebrations. Your flag expresses something about you so it c
an be anything you want it to be. We can help you to design and make your
tiny flag or you can go solo or make with friends.

The session wil
l be facilitated by Murdoch Counselling staff members Dr Rose Williams (Cr
eative Arts Therapist) and Lia Voekler\, international student and senior
clinical student in the Master of Creative Arts Therapy program here at MU
. All people are welcome\, and no art experience is needed! \;

Celebrating Harmony Day and our many cultured communities is important\,
but we shouldn't ignore its real meaning. At Murdoch University\, we ackno
wledge the challenges faced by First Nations and minoritised communities.
Despite the debate\, we're committed to diversity and inclusion and strive
to eliminate racial discrimination. We encourage reflection on Australia'
s colonial past and history of violence\, having difficult conversations a
bout race\, and finding new ways to live better in harmony.
