 udents from across the globe are doing just that in preparation for the Th
 ree Minute Thesis Competition (3MT&reg\;). Established by The University o
 f Queensland (UQ) in 2008\, 3MT&reg\; is now held in at least 600 universi
 ties across more than 65 countries worldwide.<br />3MT&reg\; provides a un
 ique opportunity to profile and celebrate the innovative research conducte
 d by postgraduate research candidates from around the world. It develops t
 he ability of students to communicate the significance and outcomes of the
 ir project in a short space of time.</p>\n<p>3MT is a competition that cha
 llenges research students to communicate the significance of their project
 s to a general audience in just three minutes. Contestants must condense t
 heir research into a brief\, engaging presentation for a non-specialist au
 dience\, using a single presentation slide.</p>\n<p>Light refreshments wil
