       <p>&nbsp\;</p>\n<p>&nbsp\;<strong>Prof David Wishart: Tools for Data
  Integration in Metabolomics</strong></p>\n<p>Prof David Wishart (PhD Yale
 \, 1991) is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and Compu
 ting Science at the University of Alberta. He has directed a number of cor
 e labs over the years and from 2006-2009\, Dr. Wishart led the&nbsp\;<a hr
 ef=\"http://www.metabolomics.ca/\">Human Metabolome Project</a>&nbsp\;(HMP
 )\, a multi-university\, multi-investigator project that catalogued all of
  the known metabolites in human tissues and biofluids. Using advanced meth
 ods in NMR spectroscopy\, mass spectrometry\, multi-dimensional chromatogr
 aphy and machine learning\, Prof Wishart and his colleagues identified or 
 found evidence for more than&nbsp\;<strong>8000</strong>&nbsp\;endogenous 
 metabolites.</p>\n<p><strong>Dr Joram Posma</strong>:<strong> Systemic nut
 riome-metabolome interactions to understand pathways to disease risk in hu
 mans.</strong></p>\n<p>Dr Joram Posma is Lecturer in Cancer Informatics at
  the Imperial College Faculty of Medicine and Health Data Research UK Fell
 ow. He is focused on the development of multivariate statistical and bioin
 formatics for molecular phenotyping to study pathology and mechanisms of d
 isease\, with particular focus on the integration of metabolic networks in
  data analysis\, data fusion techniques and immersive data visualisation f
 or cancer\, cardiometabolic diseases\, and their interface with nutrition.
