As you would have seen over the weekend, the Health Department is continuing to monitor the COVID-19 situation in Perth.
As we advised last week, the Government has stated Universities may reopen with delivery of on-campus teaching and research able to recommence with necessary COVID-19 safety measures in place.
Anyone attending our campuses has a responsibility to adhere to all government COVID-19 guidance, including wearing masks indoors and outdoors.
We urge you to consider your health, and that of your fellow students in adhering to this guidance.
Before returning to campus, please carefully consider the following advice.
- You must continue to check possible exposure sites listed on the WA Health website. New possible exposure sites are being regularly updated and have been listed here.
- As has been the case throughout this pandemic, please do not come to campus if you feel unwell in any way, and immediately seek advice from WA Health.
- If you have been to any of the exposure sites within the relevant prescribed times and dates, you must isolate and get tested and at all times act in accordance with WA Health Department advice.
- We ask that if you are suspected or confirmed as having COVID-19 you advise the University, through your teaching staff as soon as possible.
- Masks are required to be worn at all times, indoors and outdoors, as per updated advice issued to the public on Saturday May 1, 2021. You are required to bring your own mask to campus. All students must wear a mask unless you are exempt based on the reasons supplied by WA Health. Teaching staff are permitted to remove their mask when giving direct instructions to enable you to see and hear without obstruction, whilst maintaining appropriate physical distancing.
- You are required to adhere to our COVID-19 Campus Protocols.
- It is mandatory to scan the sign-posted venue QR code (or fill in the register provided) upon entry to campus venues using the SafeWA mobile app. This includes takeaway only customers at food outlets.
We thank you for your support in adhering to these essential requirements as we return to campus.
We do understand that the situation is evolving regularly, and that this may cause you distress. The University has a range of supports available to assist you.
