In 2020, we shine the spotlight on the Engineering and IT discipline areas, which consistently show the greatest under-representation of women in higher education and private sectors.
This event reinforces the value and benefit of having a diverse and inclusive workforce, and demonstrates how a culture that supports this ethos is more conducive to delivering outstanding research.
This online event will include an opening address from Pro Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Professor Lucy Johnston.
Following the opening address, Dr Martina Calais, Senior Lecturer of Engineering, will share outcomes and experiences from a collaborative research project with Horizon Power. Dr Paola Magni, Senior Lecturer in Forensic Science, expands on science, crimes, and fashion, and Associate Director of Digital Innovations, Julie Whitlock, will reflect on her career in IT.
Following their presentations, join our guest speakers in a Q&A panel discussion.
This online event will be held on Friday 21st August, 10 – 11am. To join us, please register via Eventbrite. Places are limited, so book now to avoid missing out.
Please contact event organiser Dr Ann-Maree Vallence at Ann-Maree.Vallence@murdoch.edu.au if you have any queries.
