Published: 2nd March 2022

Did you know that as a Murdoch student, you have access to a free suite of tools to help you strengthen your academic skills and boost your grades? We have a huge range of resources stretching across a wide range of skills and courses, with support available both online and on campus.

Study Success Toolkit

The Study Success Skills Toolkit is a self-serve resource hub on MyMurdoch Learning that helps you improve your academic writing, grammar, teamwork, speaking, reading, and notetaking skills. There is also support for referencing and academic integrity.

The toolkit includes a range of interactive modules you can work through in any order.

Numeracy Toolkit

If you’re studying maths and stats units, you can self-enrol in our numeracy, maths and statistics modules for extra practice questions and resources.

Grammarly

All Murdoch students have access to a free premium Grammarly account. Grammarly analyses your writing and offers suggestions for grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and style.

Grammarly can be plugged into Microsoft Word - which Murdoch students also get for free - to assist in real-time as you write your assignments.

Studiosity

If you’re having an early-morning, late-night or weekend study session and need support, Studiosity is here to help.

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you have the option to chat with a subject specialist and get instant support. You can also submit an assignment draft for writing feedback within 24-48 hours.

As a bonus, Studiosity has a handy assignment calculator tool to help you tackle procrastination and stay calm during semester.

  • You'll find access to Studiosity conveniently located in the ‘Extra Resources’ section of every unit’s LMS site.

Assignment workshops

Assignment workshops are held throughout the study period.  The workshops are open to anyone who would like to join.

All workshops are open to anyone who would like to join, and recordings are available online for those who can’t make it.

Peer support

Sometimes you need advice from someone who has been in your shoes, which is why our Peer Academic Coaches and PASS leaders are so helpful.

Our Peer Academic Coaches (PACs) are successful students who offer free and individualised 20-minute drop-in or online consultations for all Murdoch students, while Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) are study groups for specific (challenging) units.

SSA’s – Student Success Advisors

Our student success advisors can give advice about your study, wellbeing, getting the most out of university or specialist advice for international students.
