Think Big! Published: 2nd July 2019 If you are interested in entrepreneurship and innovation, or have a business concept that you would like to develop, this is the program for you! Think Big is Murdoch University’s entrepreneur competition. It is a structured program that runs across our campuses in Perth, Singapore and Dubai from August to October. Participants take part in workshops learning how to apply Lean Canvas methodology to a business concept and will pitch their idea to a panel of business judges at the end of the program. If you don’t have an idea yet that’s fine, you just need to be willing to learn the process and develop an idea through the program. Each campus will host a pitching competition, and the top three finalists from each campus will take part in the grand final at the Perth campus. Flights and accommodation will be provided for offshore finalists. Why you should enter? Think Big is a fantastic opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to explore and develop a concept with business experts, with the real possibility of taking the final product to market. You’ll build invaluable skills in developing an idea, from identifying a problem to finding a solution and developing a product or service. You’ll learn business model, finance and pitching skills, all of which will be useful in any path of life. Participants at our Perth campus will also be able to apply for our Real World Learning unit, which gives the potential to gain 3 credits on completion of the program. Acceptance into Think Big is not a guarantee to be accepted into Real World Learning, participants must apply. Prizes The top finalist from each campus will have the opportunity to attend the CommBank Innovation Lab in Sydney for 2 days in January 2020, with flights and accommodation provided by Murdoch University. Additionally there will be prizes of $1000, $750 and $500 for the top three places in the grand final, which could be used to help progress your business concept.
