Join Murdoch University to celebrate and hear from the team behind the WestPride Archives, formerly the Gay and Lesbian Archives of Western Australia. With over 5000 items in their collection including books, letters, banners, tapes and even banners from Pride Parades gone by, this archive holds a key part of Western Australia's LGBTIQA+ history over the decades.
This event offers a unique opportunity to engage with Murdoch Special Collections and the WestPride Committee through a panel discussion. Explore a curated selection of archived items on display, and join us to celebrate the efforts to preserve this wonderful collection. Throughout Pride Month, these items will also be displayed in the Geoffery Bolton Library foyer.
The Launch begins at 5:30pm, with the panel launching from 6pm in the Launchpad Space of the Geoffery Bolton Library. Light refreshments will be provided.
The Launchpad space is wheelchair accessible, and please inform us in advance if you require an AUSLAN interpreter, and we will be happy to arrange it.
