Stem cell transplantation for cervical spinal cord injury - Dr Giles Plant - 4 March at 4pm Date: 04th March 2014 Time: 16:00 PM - 17:00 PM Location: South Street Campus Stem cell based therapeutics have been reported to improve functional recovery after spinal cord injury and other CNS injuries. However, it is important to understand the mechanisms behind the observed anatomical and functional improvement. Currently it is uncertain if the differences originate from an endogenous stem cell response or if it is due to the transplant of exogenous cells. My laboratory is currently investigating selected human cell sources including mesenchymal stem cells and induce Dr Giles Plant Associate Professor of Neurosurgery Research Director, Stanford Partnership for Spinal Cord Injury and Repair Tuesday 4 March at 4pm McCusker Conference Room Building 390, Discovery Drive Murdoch University Contact: Ms Jodie Williamson Email: Jodie.Williamson@murdoch.edu.au Phone: 9360 6058
